It is profoundly disappointing that Noelene – a young woman with great ability and potential – has been forced to withdraw as the LNP candidate for Kennedy. She’s done the hard yards and is very much part of the electorate she was striving to represent.
Noelene is a committed wife, mother, and community representative who I have no doubt would have won the seat at the next federal election had she not withdrawn due to health reasons.
I’m quite distressed to hear of her diagnosis. Having said that, there would be very few women like Noelene with the capacity to take on this challenge and fight it head-on. If anyone’s going to win this battle, she will – just as I’m sure she would have won the battle for the seat of Kennedy if she’d had the opportunity.
Noelene excelled in everything she ever committed to, and I wish her all the best from myself, my wife Yolonde, our family, and the LNP family. I’m sure the broader community also shares our support for her in her present health battle.
