Grants are an important source of funding for many Leichhardt community groups, sporting clubs and not-for-profit-organisations. Please see below a list of links which can assist you in finding grants that may be suitable to you and your organisation.

Volunteer Grants Expressions of Interest 2024-25 – NOW OPEN

The 2024–25 Volunteer Grants round is now open for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from eligible not-for-profit organisations in our community. These grants, funded by the Department of Social Services, provide an opportunity to support our local volunteers and the invaluable work they do. If your organisation relies on volunteers and is looking for financial assistance to support volunteer activities, now is the time to apply.

GrantConnect is the Australian Government’s central grants information system. Here you can find current grant opportunities open for application across all Federal Government departments. You can also register as a user so that you are notified via email when grants that may be of a certain interest to you become available. New grant programs across a variety of disciplines are listed every month so be sure to sign up to receive all the latest funding news.

Business Grants >
The Australian Government provides funding for activities such as research and development, trade, indigenous business, innovation or employment. Previous Leichhardt businesses have received successful funding under Business Grants for training and education, start-up ideas, networking and much more.

Community Grants Hub >
As the name suggests, this website contains grant information from the Australian Government that is specific to community grants. Implemented by the Department of Social Services (DSS) it provides grant services primarily to individuals and the community sector for health promotion and prevention programs, social inclusion and services for people with disabilities.

This grant hub contains a list of funding sources specific to community groups and not-for-profit organisations. Registration is free and is popular among community organisations in Australia. You can also sign up to receive notifications when new grants become available.

Local Sporting Champions >
Local Sporting Champions is an Australian Government Program providing financial support to young sportsmen and women aged 12-18 years.  Grants of $500 are available three times per year for young Leichhardt athletes competing in national or international sporting competitions recognised by the Australian Sports Commission. Regional Development Australia Tropical North (RDATN) >

Regional Development Australia Tropical North (RDATN) is a national network of 52 committees made up of local leaders who work with all levels of government, business and community groups to support the economic development of their regions.

RDATN collates information on upcoming grants and tenders from government, corporate, philanthropic and private sectors that could be of assistance across a wide-range of sectors.
