FEDERAL Member for Leichhardt Warren Entsch says a newly-launched, mobile-friendly Pay and Conditions Tool (PACT) will help small businesses in Leichhardt better understand their workplace obligations.
The PACT was launched by Employment Minister Eric Abetz and the Fair Work Ombudsman, and is available at calculate.fairwork.gov.au.
Mr Entsch said: “Most employers want to do the right thing but have difficulty finding simple and reliable advice on what to pay their employees. Similarly, workers want an easy way to make sure they’re getting their correct entitlements.
“This is where the new PACT comes in – it’s an easy and simple way for everyone to get advice on wages and conditions.”
Mr Entsch said the new tool delivered on another Coalition Government election commitment to the Small Business sector in Leichhardt.
“The PACT comes on top of our other successful initiatives including a dedicated Small Business Helpline at the Fair Work Ombudsman, and a guide to help small businesses hire new employees,” he said.
“Today we deliver on another commitment that we promised five months before the last election – making an easy, simple mobile pay calculator available for workers and their employers.”
Since going live for testing in May, PACT has already proven very popular with more than 584,000 users who have registered almost one million sessions.
“I am very confident that this new tool will help to improve compliance with workplace relations laws,” said Mr Entsch.
“I strongly encourage employees to use PACT to check their entitlements, and employers to also use the online resources so they can spend less time on paperwork and more time growing their business.”
