SENATOR the Hon Mitch Fifield, Minister for the Arts, and Federal Member for Leichhardt Warren Entsch invite regional artists, arts workers and organisations in Far North Queensland to apply for Festivals Australia funding.
Approximately $1.2 million is available every financial year for arts and cultural projects that encourage community participation and audience engagement through festivals and community celebrations in regional and remote areas.
“Far North Queensland is rich in art and culture making it the perfect place to inspire others through creativity and innovation,” Mr Entsch said.
“I encourage organisations with the capacity to deliver events to apply for funding.
“This is a terrific opportunity to plan high quality arts experiences for people living in Leichhardt,” Mr Entsch said.
Minister Fifield said the program is an example of the Australian Government’s commitment to supporting a vibrant arts and culture sector in regional areas.
“The Federal Government is proud to fund programs such as this to ensure regional and remote audiences have access to high quality artistic experiences where they live,” Minister Fifield said.
“The program gives audiences access to a diverse range of art forms and ensures Australian artists and performers gain wider exposure for their work.”
Applications for this funding round close on Friday, 20 October 2017.
