FEDERAL Member for Leichhardt Warren Entsch is encouraging Far North Queenslanders to nominate a person, organisation or initiative for the 2015 National Disability Awards.
“The 2015 Awards are now open, and give us a chance to acknowledge those who are making a positive impact on the lives of people living with disability,” said Mr Entsch.
“The Awards have been running for nine years, and are very effective in raising awareness of disability issues, and showcasing the great work that is done in our community to enable people to fully participate in work and society.
“I encourage Leichhardt residents to put forward a person, organisation or initiative in their community that deserves recognition.”
This year the National Disability Awards are looking for nominations in six categories:
- Lesley Hall Award for Lifetime Achievement in Disability
- Emerging Leader in Disability Awareness
- Excellence in Accessibility – Technology
- Excellence in Accessibility – Community
