FEDERAL MP Warren Entsch has hailed his 2012 Christmas Card Competition a huge success, after receiving almost 400 entries from students all over the electorate of Leichhardt.
“I was blown away by the number of entries thank you so much to all the young people who made the effort to create and send in their pictures,” Mr Entsch said.
“There was a fantastic variety of ideas expressing the theme ‘A Tropical Sporting Christmas’ – from Santa water skiing, surfing, skydiving and fishing to playing soccer, cricket, rugby, AFL, table tennis and basketball, it’s clear that he’d have no problem working off Christmas lunch!
“I was also very impressed by the different media used from sketching, acrylic paint and watercolours to collage using sand, glitter, cut-outs, letters, recycled cards and other materials. They made for some very striking images.”
