FEDERAL MP Warren Entsch has urged residents of Leichhardt to submit expressions of interest (EOIs) for funding through the Cooperative Research Centre for Developing Northern Australia (CRCNA).
The CRCNA has today called for funding applications to research projects that address industry problems in northern Australia in the following areas:
• Agriculture and Food – Removing barriers and improving supply and value chains for new and existing agricultural industries
• Tropical Health Service Delivery – Identifying new models and approaches, early detection, health seeking behaviour and mental health
• Traditional Owner Led Business Development – Identifying new models and approaches and building industry ready skilled workforces in agriculture, food and/or health
Mr Entsch said CRCNA will be investing $75 million in Federal funding over the next decade to support industry-led research partnerships and develop new technologies.
“This is a great opportunity to examine how business and service providers can be more competitive, improve productivity, and ensure sustainability over the long term.
“By studying current practices, environments and challenges innovative solutions can be developed through new technologies,” Mr Entsch said.
“I encourage businesses and service providers in Leichhardt to take advantage of this opportunity to advance their operations, improve their market performance, and help grow Northern Australia.
“Only when we remove barriers can we capitalise on the strategic benefits of our location and grow the untapped potential of Northern Australia,” Mr Entsch said.
CRCNA expressions of interest close at 5pm on Tuesday, 31 October 2017. More information can be found at www.crcna.com.au
