PROFESSIONAL and budding photographers from Cairns to the Torres Strait are encouraged to get snap-happy to showcase our unique part of Australia in the Leichhardt Community Calendar.
Federal Member for Leichhardt Warren Entsch said: “I’m looking for photos that capture the landscape, wildlife, weather and people of Far North Queensland.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your photography skills to thousands of people across the region with the top 14 shots – one for each month plus a front and back cover – to be included in my 2016-17 Community Calendar,” he said.
The calendar, which is distributed to businesses across the electorate, will feature the names of each chosen photographer, as well as details of where each photo was taken. Constituents who would like a free copy of the calendar should also contact Mr Entsch’s office directly.
“The competition is now in its sixth year, and I always get a very good response from the community,” said Mr Entsch.
“Every year I’m amazed at the quality of images that locals submit – it definitely makes deciding on the top 14 very difficult.”
Images must be in landscape format, high-resolution JPEG digital image (minimum size 1Mb) and be received by 4.00pm on Friday 6th May 2016. They can be sent on CD or USB to PO Box 14 Bungalow, Queensland, 4870; dropped into the office at 200 Mulgrave Road, Cairns; or emailed to warren.entsch.mp@aph.gov.au
