A NEW online account feature that allows Centrelink customers to update their income and asset details online means even more convenience for Cairns seniors.
Minister for Human Services Senator the Hon Marise Payne and Federal Member for Leichhardt the Hon Warren Entsch today visited the Cairns one-stop shop to meet with staff and observe digital service improvements for seniors.
“As the department continues to improve digital options, more and more people are choosing to jump online rather than in line to do their Centrelink and Medicare business,” Minister Payne said.
“Centrelink online accounts are giving customers more control over their business by allowing them to update their personal information including contact, family and financial details online.
“This is of great benefit to seniors customers with complex and fluctuating financial circumstances no longer do they need to call or visit an office to update the value of their shares or tell us they bought a new caravan.”
Federal Member for Leichhardt the Hon Warren Entsch said the new one-stop shop is reflective of the needs of the Cairns community.
“The Cairns one-stop shop is giving locals access to more services in the one place with the added convenience of digital service options for customers with simple transactions,” Mr Entsch said.
“Staff at the one-stop shop can provide guidance in the use of online and digital options including helping people sign up for myGov.
“While digital services will often be the first option for many people, friendly staff are on hand to provide a one-on-one service for those who require more support.”
