The Morrison Government is backing Australia’s volunteers, with up to $20 million in grants now available to support them in local communities across the nation.
Volunteer Grants of $1,000 to $5,000 will help volunteers and volunteer groups to buy small equipment for volunteers, by reimbursing volunteer fuel, transport or training costs, or support promotional activities.
Federal Leichhardt MP Warren Entsch said up to $132,450 is available in the Leichhardt electorate as part of the 2021 Volunteer Grants round.
“I am currently working with community leaders and local committees to identify priority volunteer support for our local area,” Mr Entsch said.
“Volunteers across Leichhardt freely give their time to support local organisations in a variety of ways and make an extraordinary contribution to our community.
“Volunteers are the lifeblood of our community and by continuing to help each other and work together we are building a stronger and safer Cairns and Far North Queensland.”
Volunteer Grants:
Interested organisations must request an Expression of Interest form by emailing warren.entsch.mp@aph.gov.au
A staff member will then send you the Expressions of Interest form and the Volunteer Grant Guidelines.
Expressions of Interest forms must be submitted back to the office before close of business on Thursday, 15 April 2021.
All Expressions of Interest will then be considered by a local independent community consultation panel.
Mr Entsch, after consultation with the independent panel, will notify the successful organisations via email in the week commencing Monday, 26 April 2021.
The Department of Social Services will then send an official application form to nominated organisations to apply for funding.
