MEMBER for Leichhardt Warren Entsch MP says the National Innovation and Science Agenda (NISA) roadshow is coming to Cairns next Wednesday – but time is running out to register your seat.
“As we make the transition to a 21st century economy, we need to encourage innovation, investment and growth, particularly here in Northern Australia,” said Mr Entsch.
“This information session will help Cairns businesses, higher-education organisations, science groups and entrepreneurs to take advantage of the suite of initiatives in the National Innovation and Science Agenda.”
Mr Entsch said that by each of us embracing the future through innovation, we can ensure Australia remains a high-wage, generous social service provider and a first world economy.
“A more innovative Australia will keep our nation competitive, create new jobs and opportunities for all Australians, and maintain our high standard of living,” he said.
“That’s why the National Innovation and Science Agenda includes initiatives to foster new start-ups, help businesses to grow, and prepare young Australians for the opportunities of the future – wherever they might be located,” he said.
The information session will be held at the Central Queensland University’s campus – in the Cairns Square building on the corner of Abbott and Shields Streets – from 9am to 10.30 am on Wednesday 16 December.
