THE Federal Member for Leichhardt, Warren Entsch is reminding young Far North Queenslanders they have one week left to “tell their story” as part of the ABC’s Heywire competition.
“This is a huge opportunity for young people aged 16-22 who live in the Far North to put together a story in text, audio, photo, or video format demonstrating what life is like in our part of Australia,” said Mr Entsch.
“We live in a part of the world that offers amazing opportunities for young people, unique communities, and a very different way of life ? I’d encourage any interested Leichhardt youth to tell their stories.”
Over 30 winning entries will be chosen to be featured on ABC Radio and abc.net.au.
“The winners will also receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the Heywire Regional Youth Summit in Canberra next February where they will work on ideas to make regional Australia a better place for young people,” Mr Entsch said.
“I’m excited that the ABC is giving our young people a chance to tell it like it is, and foster the next generation of rural and regional leaders.”
Entries close next Tuesday 16 September 2014. More information at www.abc.net.au/heywire
