Federal Leichhardt MP Warren Entsch is encouraging local not-for-profit organisations to apply for funding through the 2024–25 Volunteer Grants program, now open for Expressions of Interest (EOI).
“These grants, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, are a fantastic opportunity to support the volunteers who play such a vital role in our community,” Mr Entsch said.
“The funding can be used to purchase essential equipment, deliver training, or run activities that directly benefit our local volunteers. Whether it’s helping with transport costs or providing tools to make their work safer and easier, these grants will go a long way to strengthening volunteer participation in our region.”
The Volunteer Grants program is funded by the Department of Social Services and aims to strengthen community functioning by increasing participation in volunteering.
Key details of the program:
- Grant range: $1,000 to $5,000
- Expression of Interest deadline: Close of business, Friday, 10 January 2025
- Eligible organisations: Not-for-profit organisations supporting volunteers.
Expressions of Interest will be reviewed by a local Community Committee, and selected organisations will be invited to apply for the grant through the Department of Social Services in February 2025.
“I strongly encourage local organisations to submit an Expression of Interest and take advantage of this opportunity to support the volunteers who do so much for our community,” Mr Entsch said.
