COALITION Members and Senators will be surveying parents across the country about the internet experiences of their family and their children, as part of the work of the Coalition’s Online Safety Working Group, said Warren Entsch, Federal Member for Leichhardt.
“The survey covers such matters as ownership and use of computers, phones and other devices; use of social media; and any experiences with cyber-bullying,” Mr Entsch said.
“I encourage all parents to take the time to respond to this survey. The more information we have, the better placed we will be to make effective policy recommendations about how we help parents and teachers ensure the safety of our children and young people online.”
The survey can be answered online, and Coalition Parliamentarians will be putting a link to the survey on their websites. A hard copy version of the survey will also be available.
The Coalition Online Safety Working Group was established earlier this year by Opposition Leader Tony Abbott to make recommendations on policy to improve online safety for children and young people.
The survey will open for responses until the end of May, to start please click on the link below;
